Yandex.Drive offers electric cars for sharing in Moscow

Oct 2, 2019 – Russian car-sharing service Yandex.Drive added 30 Nissan Leaf electric vehicles to its fleet.

The company said that an EV can be rented for 0.5, 1 or 1.5 hours so that it does not have to be charged. EV can be used in the city or beyond, but it must be returned inside the Garden Ring. The service recharges the cars itself.

To rent an electric car, users must be at least 26 years old with a driving experience of 6 years. The service also takes into account additional factors including fines and violations.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said earlier that the capital’s government plans to expand support for electric vehicles in the city, and is preparing a draft law on tax exemptions for EV owners.
