Wind Hits Record Highs: 62 GW of Wind Capacities Installed by 2016

Ecologically clean wind energy01.02.2016 – The total amount of wind energy capacities increased to 62 GW around the globe in 2015, including about 4 GW of offshore energy assets, up 25% yoy, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF). Offshore wind assets rose 4-fold from 2014 while onshore capacities grew about 20%.

China keeps its leading positions with a total of 29 GW of installed wind capacities almost totally equipped by local producers including Goldwind, Guodian United Power, Envision and Ming Yang). Germany and Great Britain.are the leaders of the offshore segment.

USA with its 8.6 GW of installed wind capacities ranks number two while Germany (3.7 GW), India (2.6 GW) and Brazil (2.6 GW) are the other top-five countries in these terms.
