Texas is a state in the southern part of the USA, second-biggest after Alaska in terms of territory and second-biggest after California in terms of population. The capital of Texas is Austin, the biggest cities are Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.

An important milestone was reached in February 2016 when wind turbines provided about a half of all energy in the state on peak. In April 2016 wind farms in Texas accounted to about 16% of all energy capacities, more than in any other US state.
