Total Solar International is a wholly-owned Total subsidiary dedicated to utility-scale solar plants.
In September 2019, TEESS, a 50-50% joint venture company, established by Total and Envision Group launched commercial activity to develop on-site distributed generation solar projects for B2B customers in China.

Electric vehicles (EV)
In September 2018, Total finalized the acquisition of G2mobility, a French provider of electric vehicle charging solutions to accelerate the growth of its electric vehicle charging businesses, from designing smart charging stations to optimizing energy usage management and selling integrated services.
M&A activities
In July 2018, Total completed acquisition of a 73.04% stake in French alternative energy company Direct Énergie for 1.4 bln euros. The company supplies electricity and gas to over 2.6 million residential and non-residential customers in France and Belgium. Direct Énergie also produces electricity through renewable production facilities (onshore wind, solar and biogas) in the region.
