New Jersey selects Ørsted as preferred bidder for debut offshore wind farm

Jun 21, 2019 – The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has selected Ocean Wind, a 1.1 GW offshore wind energy project proposed by Ørsted, to negotiate a 20-year offshore wind renewable energy credit.

Located off the coast of Atlantic City, Ocean Wind will be New Jersey’s debut large-scale offshore wind farm. The wind farm may be completed by 2024.

Ørsted will work with Public Service Enterprise Group’s non-utility affiliates, which will provide energy management services and potential lease of land for use in the project development and execution phase.

Ocean Wind will supply more than 500,000 New Jersey homes with clean power.
