Asia is the biggest continent both in terms of territory and population. There are a lot of fast-growing emerging economies there so the need for electricity surges rapidly as well.
Asia’s renewables market outlook
According to a long-term energy market outlook (New Energy Outlook 2016) made by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) and an outlook till 2035 by the ASEAN Center for Energy, South and South-East Asia will become the source of major carbon emissions on the planet in the next 25 years. This is going to be a result of their turn to coal and natural gas which are widely available in the region. Experts believe South-East Asia will show the biggest rate of investments in hydrocarbon energy sources in the next decades while China and other regions cut the use of fossil fuel and switch to renewables.
