Enel Russia: No decision to ban foreigners from renewables in Russia, no risks either

Oct 22, 2019 – Enel Russia does not see potential threats for its work from a proposal to ban foreign companies from building renewable facilities in Russia since it was not considered as the final decision of the regulator, PRIME business agency reported citing a representative of the company.

The idea was only discussed as a possible part of a regulatory strategy beyond 2024, Enel also said hoping that the decision will be made taking into account opinions of all market participants.

Vedomosti daily reported on October 16 that the Ministry of Industry and Trade suggested that only domestic companies, which are not controlled by offshore firms, should operate in the renewable energy industry.
