In 1990 the company launched its comprehensive Green Line program which envisages investments in renewable energy and resource sectors on the regular basis as well as charity eco-initiatives around the world. In 1999 Colruyt constructed its first onshore wind turbine in German town of Halle.
In 2006 Colruyt Group and Belgian wind energy company Aspiravi Group initiated the Eldepasco NV project to land the concession for an offshore wind farm on the Lodewijkbank near the coast of Belgium, later in 2011 it was renamed Northwind. The construction of this huge for that time renewable project started in 2013.
In 2009 a consortium of Colruyt Group, its investment division Korys and independent investments company PMV (ParticipatieMaatschappij Vlaanderen) made an agreement to build another offshore wind power plant in Belgium named Belwind and started the construction works immediately. In 2012 the companies decided to put their funds together into a joint venture Parkwind NV aimed at wind energy project development, also registered in Belgium.
