Chinese company to build 1.5 GW wind complex in Uzbekistan

Sep 25, 2019 – China’s Lioaning Lide will build a wind park with a total capacity of 1.5 GW and a cost of USD1.8 bln in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Lioaning Lide has held a ceremony to install a mast measuring wind power at the construction site in the Gijduvon district of the Bukhara region.

The total cost of the project is USD1.8 bln, and the overall capacity is seen at up to 1,500 MW of wind turbines located on an area of ​​6,000 hectares, the report said.

The project will be implemented in three stages. At the first stage, the debut 200 MW wind farm worth USD240 mln will be built.
