Actis (Great Britain) is a private equity fund specializing in direct investments on emerging markets of Asia, Africa and Latin America. It was founded in 2004 by spinning out of CDC Group, a fund established by the British government in mid-20th century for private investments on the British territories. In 2012 the fund’s independent partners purchased the government’s share of 40%.
As of May 2016, Acris manages USD6.6 bln worth of assets (including USD1.8 bln, or 26% of energy assets) and has a team of above 200 specialists working in 12 offices around the globe.
Actis Capital is a signer of United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment – UNPRI, and is primarily interested in solar, wind and hydroenergy assets.
The company holds shares in numerous renewable ventures, among which Aela Energia (Chile), Atlantic Energias Renovaveis S/A (Brazil), Globeleq Africa (Africa) etc.
